On Saturday, 23 July, Mike took the opportunity to share his thanks and thoughts on the ways Police, Sheriffs, Firefighters, and other first responders demonstrate respect, character, and courage everyday. He acknowledged they ways their spouses and children support for these men and women and emphasized the care they provide at the 6th annual Stand With Those Who Serve and recruitment event at Joint Base Lewis McChord.
Established in 2010, Stand With Those Who Serve has "shared the last five years with close to 10,000 participants and attendees of all ages." The event creates a positive, community-oriented space that is inclusive of all law enforcement, corrections, fire and military and all of their families. It also connects to businesses, non-profit organizations, agency demos and displays, kids and family events, entertainment and food/refreshments. SWTWS focuses on donating physical and educational support - they note "we always share opportunities to donate or give back to the communities that we serve."
Special thanks to Carrie McNally of Seattle Police Department - Seattle Police Department is committed to building community and reducing fear while fighting crime. That means taking care to communicate and listen to community needs with transparency and openness.
