Wear Blue, Run to Remember honored the fallen servicemen and women on 30 May for its Memorial Day 2016 run. Mike and Margie joined the run with families and friends of those who have made many sacrifices.
On a bright Saturday morning, Mike and Margie joined the flow of blue on the sidewalk in Dupont, Washington. They fell in step with and ran with the Dimmers, whose son is a West Point cadet. The event included families, spouses, colleagues, and community members as participants.
The start blended solemnity and respect into a run and gathering at the end full of energy and compassion. In total, over 1,500 runners wore blue to remember the fallen during the 5K. Three miles to reflect on and commit to honoring the memory of those who have served.
